Pollution here, there and everywhere

Last week my mother told me that when she was at the Nurses Training College in Korle Bu in the early 70’s, the Korle Lagoon was one of the best places to get fresh Tilapia from, in Accra.

I don’t know if algae can even survive in there now. Not to mention fish.

Very sad, really. (I hope I don’t say same of the Volta Lake some day.)

Its not writer's block (not that I qualify as a writer)
Its just laziness that kept me from my beloved blog.
I'm back.

Marathon

The date for the Accra Milo Marathon is out!
A week from today.
But I'm ill-prepared and scared to take part.
1. What if I can't finish?
2. What if I'm jostled out of the way by all the 'veterans'?
3. What if I faint or fall in a cringe-worthy manner?
Hmmm, we will see what the week brings.

City Sighs

Last Friday, I spent 4 hours on a 4km stretch of road.
*Big Sigh* I wish I didn't have to ply my trade in the city.

What are they learning in school?

I catch a glimpse of people on the sidewalk

What?

JHS? pupils clad in their uniforms and backpacks

Looks like they are from school

I muse, what on earth are they learning till this late?

Unless 1 + 1 is no longer 2,

Unless ‘subjects’ and ‘verbs’ no longer have to agree

Unless plants no longer use photosynthesis

They are just skiving in school…for 12hrs.

I wish the Ghanaian media would make more of a fuss about our veterans and how they (servicemen) fought (and still fight for us) than they do about er… umm... 14^th February.
