My friends have interesting thoughts about marriage!

* Chris says Mendelsohn’s Wedding March is every girl’s ‘victory song’.

* Ellis says marriage is like law school, everyone who gets in complains that it’s hard. Yet every year hundreds of people struggle to gain admission.

* Ekua says marriage should be a contract renewable every 7 years.

* Nii wonders how two people who once loved each other could write such spiteful things in divorce petitions.

* Amma says (talking of marriage) the grass is not greener on the other side, so stick on this/your side and water it till its green too.

* All these comments were made in different scenarios, at different times and mostly unprovoked! J With whom do you agree?

  1. hi 5 @ Chris! Soo true.
I've asked myself same question as Nii. My conclusion was that love is a glamourous empty shell.

  2. I agree with Amma- the grass looks greener because it's being tended and nurtured...

Tell Ekua that some European countries have that kind of arrangement I think. The contract can or can not be renewed!
and Mike, you probably haven't loved yet :P There sure is a thin line between lust and hate. Both require immense passion.

  3. Ouch Maxine. I have loved & still do.
I love pork khebab with the skin on it. Sizzling.

I'm convinced that absolute selflessness between or amongst (for the polygamous) the people in a marriage is what makes it successful.
The best & most successful partnerships are the ones where the partners have each others back all the time, with no alterior motives. Unfortunately in this crazy world, the nicest people risk being taken advantage of. However, joy-filled & successful marriages although rare, do exist.
I just might buy one someday.
